Background: Agency X, a prominent player in the advertising industry, sought to optimize its media performance and maximize value for its clients. It partnered with Untapped to identify untapped potential across their media platforms.

Challenge: Agency X suspected it might be missing opportunities to deliver additional value but lacked a comprehensive method to identify and quantify these gaps.

Solution: Untapped deployed its proprietary twenty-step Value Extraction Calculator to conduct a thorough analysis of Agency X's marketplace operations. Designed to uncover the hard and soft values Agencies and Clients routinely (sometimes unknowingly) leave on the table, the tool was able to identify, quantify, and recommend a path to value extraction.

Process:

  1. Untapped collaborated closely with Agency X to clarify key business inputs

  2. Agency X and Untapped collaborated on the 20 step survey, assessing each variable and scoring current state 

  3. The Assessment yielded a Current Utilization Score and quantified the value being left on the table

Findings: The analysis revealed surprising insights:

  • 8 out of 20 value drivers were completely unknown to Agency X

  • 6 value drivers were significantly underutilized

  • 3 value drivers were not fully leveraged

  • Only 3 out of 20 value drivers were being fully utilized across the agency, its accounts, and all media platforms
